In online poker, the time bank is an additional amount of time activated by clicking on the “Time Bank” button on the table. All tournament and cash game players are given a time bank in order to request more time to decide whether to check, bet, or fold when faced with a difficult decision.
The maximum time that can be stored in the Time Bank is usually 30 seconds, and if the player fails to act within the allotted time given to them, his hand is checked (if no one has bet), or folded (if someone has already bet).
Using the time-bank feature should only be used when you really need it, because activating it will result in having less allotted time. However, additional time is added every certain number of hands up to the maximum time, so that you’re not disadvantaged too much if you’ve used the time bank up early on in the session.
