PLO

An abbreviated term for Pot Limit Omaha. PLO is the most popular form of Omaha poker that is played online as well as in poker rooms of B&M casinos. The betting structure of PLO is pot limit, meaning that the maximum bet allowed during any street is whatever amount is in the pot at that time. Because each player is dealt four cards, there are more hand combinations to make big hands like straights and flushes.

EXAMPLE “PLO is a game of the nuts.”

Watch Phil Galfond make a great call against Brian Hasting on an episode of Poker After Dark PLO The Cash Game on a board where two potential straights got there.
