Dominated

When you hold a hand that is similar to your opponents hand, but yours is of lessor value and dominated by your opponents hand.

An example would be if you started with an ace and an eight in texas hold’em and your opponent held an ace but with a king kicker. If you were to make top pair on the flop your hand would be dominated by your opponents kicker and there is good chance you would have the worst hand by the river as your hand would need to improve with three outs, assuming the other player didn’t flop two pair.

EXAMPLE “Dominated hands like Queen Ten always get me into trouble.”
