Continuation Bet

The continuation bet, aka the c-bet, or c-betting, is when a player raises preflop and continues their aggression with another bet on the flop.

EXAMPLE “I was dealt Aces in early position and open raised the standard 3X the bb. Action folds around to the big blind, who decides to make the call. The flop is a rainbow of K-T-7. The big blind checks, and I put out a continuation bet of approximately 3/4 the size of the pot, hoping he caught a piece of it but not too big a piece of it. The big blind folds and I scoop the pot.”

A c-betting strategy is built on simple fundamentals in poker that are easy to understand and you should know when to cbet and when not to cbet.
